While many of Montana’s champion racehorses were in truth sons and daughters of the eastern bluegrass rather than of the western bunchgrass, they were under the ownership of Montanans Noah Armstrong, Samuel Larabie, or Marcus Daly, and, figuratively, “Montana” horses.
